Randstad is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in the Summerlin area to find a Senior Accountant with expertise in cost accounting. Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 (plus 10% bonus)

responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies related to inventory and costing.

  • Ensure accuracy of monthly activity rates and standard costs for month-end close reporting.

  • Monitor variance accounts, investigate discrepancies, and implement necessary adjustments.

  • Review and approve journal entries related to cost and inventory accounting.

  • Recommend and uphold internal controls and financial procedures in compliance with SOX standards.

  • Update cost standards for material and labor price fluctuations.

  • Reconcile inventory accounts and monitor ongoing inventory activities.

  • Support cross-departmental initiatives through detailed reporting and data analysis.

  • Collaborate with IT and Operations teams to enhance reporting processes.

  • Assist with monthly financial analysis compared to forecasts and budgets.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of cost accounting experience within the manufacturing industry is essential.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control procedures.

  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
