Air Education and Training Command MARKETING ASSISTANT in Laughlin AFB, Texas

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, located within the Marketing Department on Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas. This position is considered Regular Full Time (RFT). Guaranteed 35 hours a week with potential to a maximum of 40 hours per week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. RFT employees are eligible to earn annual and sick leave as well as benefits including Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and Retirement. Responsibilities Assists in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation and increase financial income to the Force Support Squadron activities. Assists in conducting advertising campaigns. Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs and offers for activity managers. Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mix. Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in Force Support activities. Assists in conducting media relations with on- and off-base media. Assists the Marketing Specialist by administering surveys, analyzing results, and providing feedback. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices. Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform research, select, arrange and compose material and maintain well-organized files. Knowledge and experience in web hosting and social media Marketing preferred. In addition, must have specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to design and layout advertising copy and artwork using desk top publishing software, word processing and other software. Must have experience developing, conducting and analyzing market research information. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
