PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for the preparation and analysis of reporting related to operational costs, sales, budgeting, and inventory of the company. Reporting covers all facets of operations and inventory, with emphasis on production related metric analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND

TASKS:       

• Manage production accounting, manufacturing analysis, inventory reserves, and cost modeling for both Wayne Farms LLC and WFSP

• Prepare monthly financial reports and participate in monthly financial review conference calls

• Monitor plant performance variances, including specific plant cost drivers (i.e. meat yields, throughputs, material usage, overtime, etc.) to stated standards and summarize opportunities related to manufacturing costs for management, including submitting data to Agristats

• Prepare analysis of weekly and monthly manufacturing / conversion costs per line to ensure accuracy of data

• Complete periodic and yearly standard cost rolls in ERP system

• Participate in month end journal entry preparation and other closing / general ledger activities

• Research and resolve discrepancies on general ledger and reports, communicating root cause to appropriate personnel

• Provide support to complex finance managers regarding system-generated production, inventory, sales, transfer, and adjustment transactions on the general ledger

• Interface with internal departments (i.e. field location accounting, master data, supply chain, and operations, corporate personnel, etc.) to resolve issues, error, concerns etc.

• Perform other special projects and duties as assigned

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field from an accredited institution

   

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Minimum three (3) years' relevant cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; experience within the poultry/meat producing industry preferred
• Proficiency with excel spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems; Knowledge of Adage software preferred
• Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner
• Must have exceptional communication, both verbal and written, attention to detail and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively 
• Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail

• Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

• May sit for extended periods while performing duties
