Robert Half Senior Tax Manager - Public Accounting in Lavista, Nebraska
Description
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager (Public Accounting) to join our team in the Omaha, Nebraska area. This role can be in-person in the Omaha office OR can be done 100% remotely with very infrequent travel into the Omaha office when necessary. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing various tax returns, providing guidance to staff, and representing clients in tax compliance issues. You will also be expected to conduct research, apply knowledge of GAAP, and develop and maintain relationships with clients.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review various tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff members
• Represent clients in IRS, State, and local tax compliance issues
• Apply your knowledge of GAAP and client financial statements to tax preparation
• Identify and suggest resolutions for technically advanced tax issues
• Deliver concise and accurate work products in written and oral form
• Conduct complex technical research and prepare research memos
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing communication and exceptional service
• Identify opportunities to expand services to current clients
• Cultivate new client relationships through referrals and networking
• Stay updated on technical matters through training and self-study
• Follow all procedures and policies diligently
• Use advanced computer literacy skills with relevant software programs for effective job performance.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field required
• CPA license desired, but equivalent Public Accounting Tax experience without a CPA will be considered
• Prior direct supervisory experience overseeing Tax staff required
• Ability to work directly with clients for planning, strategy, review, etc. from a remote basis
• The candidate must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Public Accounting/CPA firm tax position
• Proficiency in using UltraTax tax software is a plus, but not required
• The applicant should be well-versed in managing all aspects of Accounting Functions
• Proficiency in Income Tax Accounting, conducting Income Tax Audits, and ensuring Income Tax Compliance is required
• The applicant should have a strong background in Public Accounting Tax
• The applicant should have a strong understanding of Tax Law, Tax Liabilities, Tax Planning Strategies, Tax Preparation, Tax Projections, and Tax Reporting.
