Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Engineering CAD Design Technician to join our Water Resources Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and plans for civil engineering projects related to water resources. Project types include, but are not limited to, stormwater drainage, dams, levees, lake rehabilitation, river restoration, constructed wetlands, surface water irrigation, and streambank stabilization.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Engineering CAD Design Technician will:

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop sound engineering project designs.

  • Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and apply CAD software to create technical drawings and designs.

  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop detailed engineering drawings. Preparation of engineering drawings will include:

  • Process survey data

  • Set up plan sheets, plan production, sheet set manager

  • Develop grading plans, surfaces

  • Volume analysis

  • Develop alignments, profiles, cross sections, details

  • Maintain organized records of project files, drawings, and revisions.

  • Coordinate with teams, including project managers, surveyors, and engineers.

  • Stay up to date with advancements in CAD technology and software.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates are required to have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

T he following are preferred:

  • Drafting or engineering degree,

  • 5+ years’ experience working in the engineering industry on civil projects.
