Position Summary:

The Assembler disassembles and/or assembles technical equipment. Reads and interprets instructions, assembly parts and tools, and fits electronic components together with a focus on quality and efficiency

Position Details:

• Hourly position based upon experience & skill level

• Contract with possible contract extension or hire

• Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 6:00am-2:30pm

• Location: Onsite - Lawrence, PA 15055

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of tasks to assemble components, subassemblies, products, or systems in fiber optic or cable assembly. This may be accomplished through rotation of multiple work stations during a shift.

• Reads work orders, quotes, and follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or follows verbal instructions to meet quality and quantity standards.

• Inspects final product to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

• Tends machines and tools that are used in the assembly process.

• May monitor raw materials inventory and notify appropriate personnel when reorder point is reached.

• Test assemblies and record discrepancies.

• Able to work independently as well as part of a team environment.

• Ability to read and follow blueprints or schematics.

• Performs work under general supervision.

• Good organization skills and attention to detail.

• Good hand-eye coordination

• Able to read, write and interpret various instructions.

• Basic computer and mathematical skills

• Experience with hand tools and power tools

• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Education Level: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent designation

• Relevant Work Experience: 1-3 years

• Experience Specific (if applicable): Familiarity with telecommunications parts, technical parts and assembly; soldering skills

• None

Physical Environment/Working Conditions:

• Production environment, may have minimal exposure to chemicals

• Lifting up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and 50 pounds on an infrequent basis; finger and hand dexterity in both hands; standing; bending; and sitting on a frequent basis.

Vision Requirements:

• Ability to differentiate between colors

• Ability to read small numbers
