About the Role:

As a CBRE Building Specialist, you will perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Oversee shift operations, assign work orders, and provide technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors.

  • Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair. Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.

  • Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance. Complete and review team maintenance and repair records as required.

  • Plan and put in place a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.

  • Inspect building systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing. Confirm operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.

  • Maintain an energy management program to make sure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.

  • Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.

  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning assistance as needed.

  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to complete assigned tasks and solve routine problems.

  • Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.

  • Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.

  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.

  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
