The Analytical Scientist, in collaboration with Quality Assurance and Applied R&D, performs sample analysis using advanced analytical methods such as GC, HPLC, ICP-MS and other assays. This position will lead projects by planning, conducting and summarizing experiments to answer Quality Assurance and/or Applied R&D questions upon assignment. Responsible for sample preparation and testing for product release and research samples using advanced analytical techniques including HPLC, ICP-MS and GC. Responsible for designing and conducting benchtop experiments and analysis. Serve as project leader for investigation and development of sample preparation and analysis methods using advanced analytical techniques including HPLC, ICP-MS and GC. Serve as project lead for analytical method validation projects. Provide additional support to colleagues, research team members, or the applied research group for analytical method development projects and applied R&D projects as directed. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and other company laboratories to ensure successful commercial testing and troubleshooting of unexpected results. Effectively operate analytical instrumentation and equipment. Partner with Operations and QA laboratories to train others and review routine analytical testing. Understand and adhere to Protein Research Center method development and validation best practices. Leverage scientific knowledge and problem-solving abilities to continually improve research and commercial efforts. Write experimental designs, complete data analysis and write final project reports to facilitate excellence in communication. Record, collate, evaluate and interpret experimental data to make appropriate recommendations and documentation. Identify technical alternatives from literature review. What you need to join our team: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Minimum two (2) years of experience in a laboratory or dairy plant environment required. Experience in analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC and IC required.
