Overview

Responsible for the effective management of food service operations for Food and Nutrition Services.

Responsibilities

• Establishes, implements, and enforces policies and procedures such as: institutional policies and procedures, State regulations, The Joint Commission, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

• Helps establish and enforce budget requirements within the department.

• Coordinates activities of Managers and Supervisors; maintains and strives for optimal intra-departmental communications and understanding among Nutrition Services, Clinical Nutrition Services, Patient Dietary Services and the Dining Room.

• Contributes to the development and revision of patient and dining room menus.

• Provides direction to Managers and Supervisors relative to employee related issues, departmental policies and procedures and general personnel policies.

• Coordinates and conducts departmental educational programs and patient education programs for staff.

• Supervises functions and procedures as they relate to other departments, ensuring optimal programs.

• Manages the departmental quality assessment and improvement program.

• Supervises assigned personnel. Selects, counsels, prepares performance evaluations, and terminates according to policy.

• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Food Service Management or equivalent.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
