FECON Parts Manager in Lebanon, Ohio

Manager Title: VP of Aftermarket

FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt

FECON, LLC is a vegetation management equipment manufacturer located in Lebanon, Ohio near Kings Island Amusement Park. Job Summary:

The Parts Manager is responsible for the fulfillment process of parts orders, ensuring a timely delivery and positive customer experience. Key performance objectives in order of priority are:

  • Contributing to Fecon’s prosperity by executing the department’s business plan that results in increased sales and profitability.

  • Develop a strong, effective team to increase the department’s capacity which boosts profit margins and the ability to deliver strong customer support.

  • Maintain sufficient inventory to satisfy customer demand while increasing profitability through the proper inventory turns.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains front-line employees.

  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory; generates what needs to be purchased or manufactured, completes month-to-date review.

  • Reviews safety stocks and reorder triggers

  • Performs and guides staff on inventory cycle counts to help ensure accuracy.

  • Weekly/Monthly review of open customer orders, purchase orders and negative report.

  • Maintain inventory location accuracy.

  • Purchases parts for stock based on inventory; runs report by vendor, places calls, emails, or faxes for parts orders.

  • Runs productions jobs and ensures completion to meet departmental needs.

  • Maintains proper inventory levels and transfers requests for all items that are transferred between warehouses and purchased outside of parts.

  • Maintains back orders and reports; completes reports through ERP system, enters notes regarding back orders, estimated arrival & shipping dates. Attends weekly production meeting and share report.

  • Works closely with the Vice President of Aftermarket Sales to assist and educate dealers with parts sales and inventory.

  • Dealer Quarterly Review and Report generation.

  • Monthly Dealer Dashboard

  • Stock Order Program & Annual Return Program

  • Assists with any Product Support/Warranty Bulletins and helps maintain parts availability for those needs.

  • Assists and guides staff on supporting the Service department with any parts related needs.

  • Assesses and updates monthly all main wear item sales projections and distribute accordingly:

  • Tooling

  • Bearing Assemblies and associated components.

  • Manages annual inventory for the Parts Department, facilitating cross-departmental cooperation and completion, including resolution of any inventory discrepancies.

  • Assists staff with answering questions and resolving parts order questions and concerns.

  • Guides and educates department staff on new products being released/supported.

  • Facilitates Training

  • Assists with part number set up/review on service items for those products.

  • Creates Service Kits based on Product/Machine and maintenance requirements.

  • Works with Technical Illustrator on any part number structure/set up or needs for the Parts manual completion.

  • Creates and maintains Recommended Spare parts lists based upon build.

  • Assists in the design needs of the on-line parts ordering system; provides input regarding dealer needs and system functionality.

  • Assists in the identification of new product expansion and promotional ideas.

  • Develops training program for on-line parts system. Assists with dealer part training and manuals.

  • Creates and determines quarterly specials and marketing methods to increase parts sales.

  • Develops reports in ERP (Syteline/Infor) to meet the needs of the department.

  • Completes internal reporting and studies relating to parts orders.

  • Works with Vendors and IT to update costing and pricing anytime there are Vendor Pricing updates (Syteline/Infor)

  • Reviews and creates annual price list and handles distribution to dealers, as well as updates within the ERP (Syteline/Infor) and online.

  • Handles any ECN changes that affect parts supplies/demand and ensure proper documentation within manuals.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong Critical thinking

  • Strong communication skills both orally and writing.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Advanced level of Excel, Word, and Power Point

  • Ability to work within ERP systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor degree preferred.

  • 5 years of managerial experience related to parts distribution and inventory controls.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.

  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
