Medical Equipment Service Technician Senior- Lebanon-Day Shift

Location: WellSpan Health, Lebanon, PA

Schedule: Full Time

Shift Information

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

General Summary

Works directly with the Biomed Supervisor, who will provide guidance. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting routine maintenance, and repairs of all company owned or patient owned equipment either in the home or at the WME warehouse. Abides by all regulatory guidelines set forth by governing agencies. Maintains accurate records for equipment according to WME and outside agency regulations. Responsible for maintaining work areas and service vehicle in a neat and orderly fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Performs equipment maintenance on WME owned and customer owned equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory agencies.

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains records associated with each piece of equipment to abide by all regulations.

  • Performs functional and safety inspections on all WME rental equipment.

  • Troubleshoots and performs repairs on customer owned and WME rental equipment.

  • Develops and maintains technical knowledge of all home medical equipment provided by WME.

  • Develops a basic reimbursement knowledge of products and services provided by WME.

  • Assists supervisor with customer owned equipment installations and repairs.

  • Ensures annual calibration is performed on all testing equipment.

  • Will assist in training of new service technicians.

  • Responsible for maintaining par levels for equipment and parts by either notifying supervisor or through purchase request.

  • Assists with the responsibility of maintaining personal workspace, service vehicle, and warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion.

  • Contacts manufacturers for technical guidance and equipment returns, obtains return authorizations and quotes.

  • Prepares equipment repair estimates for customer owned equipment and forwards to the billing office for processing.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting equipment problems with customers during normal work hours.

  • Assists with delivery technician duties and staging products and equipment for deliveries as needed.

  • Assists with incoming product and equipment as needed.

  • Assists with inventory counts.

  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

  • Medical field experience. Required

  • Medical field experience, preferably in Home Medical Equipment. Preferred

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.

  • Ability to operate office equipment (computer, fax, copier, phone).

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair home medical equipment.
