PROGRESSIVE WORKSHOP OF Program Assistant in Leechburg, Pennsylvania

PROGRAM ASSISTANT (Adult Achievement Center)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and activities under the direction of the Program Director:

Supervise and train individuals in regards to their program goals and all services approved in their ISP.

Work with the individuals on appropriate interactions with others, soft work habits and attitudes as outlined in the individual's ISP.

Participate in implementing outcome goals, socialization activities and leisure activities that are outlined in the individual's ISP.

Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner so it reflects day to day progress on outcomes for each individual.  This includes goal sheets, attendance sheets, activity calendars, etc.

Will follow all applicable program regulations including, but not limited to 2380 requirements, 51 regulations monitoring, worker's comp, etc.

May be required to drive van as necessary or directed to ensure individuals are transported to and from program and to and from activities in the community. (This applies if person has a valid PA driver's license and per agency insurance guidelines driver must have 2 years driving experience and be age 21 or above).

May at times be required to lift up to 50 pounds.  Job also requires bending, stooping, pushing and/or pulling.

May at times be required to be a 1:1 with an individual.     

Participate in training activities as directed and as appropriate.

Attend meetings as required.

Perform all other duties as assigned.               

*GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:     *

Will participate as assigned, needed or required, on the floor to observe client participation and/or behaviors as these relate to the individuals' ISPs.

Will attend staff meetings and training sessions, conferences, seminars as required or requested in order to maintain and/or increase job knowledge or skills.

Abide by rules, governing regulations, confidentiality and privacy regulations as well as the code of ethics of the agency.

CLASSIFICATION:  Full time hourly, Non-exempt

 QUALIFICATIONS:

An associate degree or 60 credits hours from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with persons with a disability

High school graduate or equivalent with 1 year of full-time paid work/volunteer experience in working directly with persons with a disability. 

Must be able to lift, carry, bend, etc. or arrange to have those tasks completed by alternate method. (should they be substitute job coach.)

Must have good oral and written communication skills

Must participate in Drug and Alcohol program including pre-employment and random testing

Must have Act 33/34 clearances

Must have a valid PA driver's license (This applies if person has a valid PA driver's license and per agency insurance guidelines driver must have 2 years driving experience and be age 21 or above).

Must meet agency fleet guidelines with regard to motor vehicle records

Must have a pre-employment physical and a physical every 2 years after hire

Must have a TB test as part of the pre-employment and on-going physical requirement

Must meet agency guidelines with regard to personal policies including, appropriate dress, cell phone use and other established procedures.
