Job Overview

The Sourcing Specialist will develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet raw material needs throughout the Switching & Fusing Business Unit.

A Day In The Life

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead sourcing of major commodity items for the Business Unit

• Analyze potential suppliers in our market

• Work with our corporate sourcing team on cost savings projects

• Evaluate proposals from vendors and negotiate within budgetary limitations

• Work with Product Engineers to develop cost effective product components

• Work closely with manufacturing management to ensure inventory goals are met

• Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance and lead improvement efforts

What Will Help You Thrive in this Role?

• Bachelors degree in supply chain management or technical field

• 3+ years of experience in a materials role involving sourcing activities for a manufacturing operation

• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings

• Possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials

• Familiarity with Quality systems, processes, and requirements

• Demonstrated negotiations experience

• Strong analytical skills

Preferred:

• Experience working with SAP

• Understanding of, or experience working with international logistics

• Understanding of commodity markets
