Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Ensure all safety, security, and fire regulations and policies are followed for the Summit building and Facilities Equipment. Perform preventative maintenance procedures for Facilities equipment, building, and grounds as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor. Record task completions on Facilities Checks and Services Chart and make recommendations for major repairs and purchases to the Facilities Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control the Building Automation System to ensure optimal operation of chillers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers to meet plant needs for chilled and tower cooling water.

  • Monitor and control the Compressed Air System (compressors, dryers, and filters) to ensure compliance with required compressed air pressure for thermoforming and the rest of the plant. Monitor the quality of compressed air and energy usage.

  • Repair Facilities equipment such as water pumps, cooling towers, water tanks, motors, supply and exhaust fans, and vacuum pumps for molding and printing.

  • Assist with preventive maintenance on Chillers, Towers, and Heat Exchangers.

  • Assist certified compressor and dryer technicians during scheduled maintenance.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on material handling systems: rail car unloading system, vacuum pumps and motors, surge bins loaders, piping, and silo accessories.

  • Inspect and maintain rooftop equipment, including A/C units for plant and office, exhaust fans, roof drains, and ventilation systems.

  • Assist with preventive maintenance on rooftop and mezzanine HVAC equipment.

  • Maintain and repair Air Handling Units, VRF, gas space heaters, sprinkler systems, water, gas, and associated equipment.

  • Review water test results with the chemical treatment expert and repair chemical equipment, tanks, and pumps.

  • Maintain good housekeeping in mechanical rooms and Facilities storage areas.

  • Support cleaners in maintaining external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks, and parking lots using manual brooms, rakes, shovels, etc.

  • Monitor work performed by gardeners or snow removal contractors to ensure proper removal of dirt, leaves, snow, and other refuse.

  • Perform minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering.

  • Complete and maintain related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports.

  • Transport equipment, furniture, and supplies manually and/or using aids such as dollies and carts.

  • Operate Sky-Jack or Articulated Boom as required.

  • Ensure energy savings and continuous improvement initiatives are followed.

  • Perform all duties with care and safety, due diligence, and comply with industrial safety rules and company safety policies.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and certification

  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills

  • Experience in facilities maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, and repair

  • Preventative maintenance knowledge

  • Ability to perform wiring and facility maintenance

  • Experience in building and industrial maintenance

  • Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor

Work Environment

Work is performed in a production environment with moderate noise levels. Heavy lifting and prolonged standing are required. The role involves walking, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling, gripping and grasping, and some repetitive arm, wrist, and shoulder movements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00
