Job Title: Quality Assurance Personnel

Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Assurance Personnel to join our team. This role involves performing daily quality assurance checks on finished products and shipped goods, managing product retainers, and verifying the completeness of daily production logs. The ideal candidate will ensure all work is performed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily QA checks on finished products and shipped goods before loading.

  • Pull or ensure samples are obtained for required testing.

  • Manage product retainers and verify completeness of daily production logs.

  • Ensure all work is performed within SOPs and cGMP.

  • Assist in establishing quality standards.

  • Perform back-up for production personnel and provide on-the-job training to new employees.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on quality assurance equipment.

  • Calibrate scales, perform weight checks every 30 minutes, and conduct X-Ray checks every hour.

  • Navigate batch records to execute quality assurance goals and objectives.

  • Evaluate QA processes for inbound raw materials and finished goods.

  • Collaborate with management to implement department improvements and maintain high quality compliance.

  • Communicate with purchasing and compliance regarding testing processes.

  • Facilitate periodic quality meetings to discuss testing methods for inbound raws and finished goods.

  • Validate quality processes by ensuring product/service specifications and quality attributes.

  • Conduct periodic surveillance audits and follow up on customer complaints relating to quality.

  • Review certificates of analysis (C of A's) and raw criteria for batch records.

  • QA pallet shipments and update house labels for products and cases.

  • Ensure quality runs of inbound raws to specification for batches.

  • Involve in billing lab processes to customers and send out products and raws to third-party labs.

  • Obtain air and water samples from the production floor and assist in validations.

  • Record and track all tests and work with auditing bodies such as Kosher/Halal/Organic.

  • Perform other quality duties as requested.

Essential Skills

  • At least a year of QA experience, preferably in Food and Beverage.

  • Experience with Batch Records and manual/computer documentation.

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

  • Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.

  • Working knowledge of PC, Microsoft Office, and the Internet.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Good attendance, appearance, and personal hygiene.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to work behind a computer for extended periods.

  • Prepare accurate, timely, and complete reports.

  • Complete tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain confidentiality and enforce company policies and procedures.

  • Work well with others and treat company assets properly.

  • Attention to detail and ability to lead and manage others.

  • Understanding of equipment setup, breakdown, cleaning/sanitizing, and lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Computer experience including Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A degree and management experience are a plus.

  • Industry experience is preferred but not necessary if you have experience in food processing or manufacturing.

Work Environment

This position is within a manufacturing environment where supplements are tested, produced, manufactured, and shipped. The environment can be chaotic, requiring comfort with change and a fast-paced work style

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
