Town of Leesburg Fleet Maintenance Technician I in Leesburg, Virginia

What Youll Be Doing Under general supervision, is responsible for performing skilled mechanical repair work on a diversified fleet of trucks, automobiles, and light/heavy equipment, up-fitting emergency equipment; and performs related duties as required. This position may be deemed essential personnel for inclement weather or operational emergencies.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain Commercial Drivers License (CDL)- Class B with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain at least two (2) ASE certifications in either Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck category, with at least one certification in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Brakes, within one (1) year of employment.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within one (1) year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a Commercial Drivers License- Class A.
  • Master ASE certified in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck.
  • Virginia State Vehicle Inspector License
  • Install/Up-fit and assembly experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
