Job Description: IT Project Manager

Location: Fort Johnson

Clearance Level: Secret Clearance

Compliance: DOD 8140

Position Overview: The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects at Fort Johnson. This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical expertise, project management skills, and experience in managing cross-functional teams. The candidate must ensure all projects align with organizational goals, meet deadlines, and stay within budget. Compliance with DOD 8140 regulations and maintaining a Secret Clearance are mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage IT projects from inception through completion, ensuring they meet scope, time, and cost constraints.

• Develop project plans, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and external partners.

• Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and change management processes.

• Ensure compliance with DOD 8140 standards and guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.

• Provide regular project updates to leadership, including status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.

• Manage project budgets, resources, and procurement activities, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.

• Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring project milestones are achieved.

• Implement best practices in project management, adhering to industry standards and organizational policies.

• Ensure documentation and project artifacts are maintained according to organizational standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within a government or military environment.

• PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

• In-depth knowledge of DOD 8140 compliance requirements and experience in maintaining security clearances.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Agile, Waterfall).

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.

• Experience working in a DOD environment and familiarity with military protocols and procedures is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

• Compliance with all DOD 8140 certification requirements.
