Tech9 Product Owner in Lehi, Utah

Overview

We are growing our delivery team at Tech9! We are looking for a stellar product owner to be the primary contact between the development scrum teams, Design, product management, and client stakeholders. You will manage the roadmap by determining how to specify and document features to meet client and business needs, always prioritizing the end users and helping to maximize the Return on Investment for every feature within a product. A strong sense of ownership, resilience, drive to have an impact, and humility are musts.

This is a hybrid position for our HQ office located in Lehi, UT.

Responsibilities & Expectations

Product Vision and Backlog Management:  

  • Define product vision, roadmap, and scope of deliverables.

  • Break down complex ideas into actionable, technical user stories, epics, themes, and acceptance criteria.

  • Build, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog based on impact, strategy, and alignment with the product vision and business objectives.

  • Identify and document business requirements.

    Agile Methodology and Collaboration:

  • Utilize Agile methodologies (especially Scrum) to facilitate backlog grooming sessions, and participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-up meetings.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, and delivery teams to define clear objectives, value propositions, and success criteria.

  • Coordinate with other Agile teams to ensure alignment on solutions, priorities, and dependencies.

    Documentation and Communication:

  • Maintain product documentation like epics, user stories, backlogs, release plans, and progress reports.

  • Communicate product vision, roadmap, and release content to scrum teams, stakeholders and technical leadership.

  • Keep internal and external stakeholders informed and provide visibility into the development process.

    Client and Market Focus:

  • Act as the voice of the client to the development team, representing their needs and business strategies.

  • Become a business domain expert, deeply understanding client needs and market expectations.

  • Leverage data to guide product strategy and feature prioritization and ensure alignment with customer needs.

    Quality and Delivery:

  • Establish clear and measurable quality and success criteria.

  • Own the delivery of roadmaps and features.

  • Facilitate product and release demos, taking accountability for feedback and outcomes.

  • Establish release criteria in coordination with stakeholders and the team.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues that may impact timelines or product quality.

    Process Improvement:

  • Identify ways to improve processes and accelerate value delivery to clients.

    Minimum Requirements

    Software Development :

  • Strong exposure in managing projects that are scoped around cloud based development platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. 

  • Product Owner certification (CSPO or PSPO) is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of web app development and implementation in IOS and Google Play store.

  • Proficiency with Jira for task management.

  • Preferred proficiency with UX/UI tools such as Figma.

  • AWS Practitioner or similar certification is a plus, but not required. 

      Organization and Time Management:

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Own and define product roadmap, project scope, and delivery requirements. 

      Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Proven track record of collaborating with diverse and global teams, and ensure effective communication across varied timezones. 

  • Ability to obtain client trust and diligence to maintain it. 

      Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address client challenges and find effective solutions.

  • Ability to navigate complex situations, think critically, and make product decisions that align with high level business objectives.

      Adaptability and Innovation:

  • Ability to adapt to changing client needs and industry dynamics, leveraging innovation to propose and implement new ideas that enhance client success.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive mindset to lead through change.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects across various industries and with global teams in multiple time zones.

      Empathy and Customer Focus:

  • Deep empathy for clients' needs and challenges, with a customer-centric approach to delivering solutions.

  • Commitment to understanding the unique requirements of each client and ensuring their success is at the forefront of all interactions.

  • Ability to thoroughly understand target markets and end users and advise client stakeholders on product decisions to meet the needs of those end users.

      Data-Driven Decision-Making:

  • Proficiency in conducting data analysis and creating metrics to inform decisions and measure the success of client engagements and feature development.

  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-driven insights and continuous improvement in the client success function.
