Summary:

The Mobile App Vertical at Vivint is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with expertise in manual and exploratory testing for iOS and Android applications. This role will be responsible for ensuring top-notch quality in our mobile applications, maintaining testing environments, and supporting product features throughout the development lifecycle. You will advocate for the end user by identifying quality gaps, creating detailed test plans, executing test cases, and working closely with cross-functional teams to support agile development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual testing of iOS and Android applications, identifying defects and quality issues.

  • Write and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new product features.

  • Execute regression test suites to validate application stability across releases.

  • Assess manual test cases to determine automation potential.

  • Maintain testing environments, including mobile hardware devices and software tools.

  • Serve as a strong advocate for user experience and product quality.

  • Play an active role in the agile software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality products.

  • Identify quality gaps and contribute ideas to enhance testing processes.

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

  • 2-3 years of experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android).

  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and make informed decisions.

  • Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals and methodologies.

  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions on test coverage based on risk and time constraints.

  • Proven experience writing detailed test plans and test cases.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

  • High accuracy and precision in testing and documentation.

  • Experience working with tools like Xcode, Android Studio, and Jira or similar issue-tracking tools.

  • Understanding of agile development methodologies and processes.

  • Able to work independently with good decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Familiarity with Python scripting.

  • Experience writing native app automation scripts.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
