Group Lead, Mechanical Engineering

The role of the Group Lead, Mechanical Engineering is to assist the Mechanical Engineering Manager with technical guidance of a team of mechanical engineers to mentor and provide project related technical direction. Adhere to all established procedures as defined by ATS Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Safety Procedures, and the Employee Handbook.

POSITION: Group Lead, Mechanical Engineering DEPARTMENT: Engineering (Mechanical)

REPORTS TO: Mechanical Engineering Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Primary:

• Responsible for assessing and forecasting mechanical resources and utilization.

• Accountable for ensuring quality outputs and KPIs of group.

• Ensure training and competency of new hires as well as group.

• Participate in planning phase of new projects and ensure mechanical team receives necessary information for project completion.

• Review team designs and ensure uniformity and completion of designs.

• Produce mechanical work packages for assigned equipment with a focus on high-risk technical equipment.

• Produce and requisition complete bills of material for assigned project equipment.
