Job Description:

The Nursing Supervisor is a leadership position providing administrative and clinical operations oversight for weekends. This candidate will support patient care for various patient care units by ensuring appropriate human and material resources are allocated consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. This role serves as an administrative liaison for emergency preparedness, patient and family concerns, and the media. They will represent administration to the employees, press, and public on weekday off-shifts, along with 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays, and assume management and clinical responsibilities for the delivery of quality care throughout the nursing departments in the absence of Nurse Managers/Directors, recognizing when it is appropriate to notify Nursing Leadership, Senior Leadership, Administrator on-call, and/or other resource personnel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Valid State of Maine RN license

  • BLS/ACLS certification required

    Experience:

  • 5+ years of nursing experience required

  • 3+ years of leadership experience preferred

    Other Skills Required:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Flexibility to provide off-hour coverage as needed

  • Independent discretion/decision-making skills
