Robert Half Payroll Tax Manager (contract) in Lewisville, Texas

Description

We are seeking a Payroll Tax Manager to join our team in the construction industry on a contract basis, located in Lewisville, Texas. The role will entail managing payroll-related tasks, dealing with tax issues, and communicating with external agencies like the IRS. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity approximately 2-months). Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office in Lewisville, TX.

Payroll Tax Manager (contract role):

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other team members to address and resolve tax issues at federal, state, and local levels

• Handle IRS notice reconciliations and manage a large volume of outstanding notices

• Engage regularly in telecommunications with the IRS to address concerns related to late payments and other issues

• Correct discrepancies in 941 and 940 filings

• Assist in managing increased workload in Labor & Compliance without an increase in staff

• Provide support in daily operations as needed

• Work cooperatively with the payroll tax team to maintain smooth operations

• Utilize payroll tax skills, including Payroll Tax Returns, Payroll Taxes, and Payroll Tax Reporting

• Utilize software skills, including Viewpoint Vista, UKG Ready, and UKG Pro

• Use knowledge and understanding of IRS filings and tax regulations to ensure compliance

• Apply quick-thinking and analytical skills for problem-solving.

Requirements • Candidate must possess at least 5 years of experience in a Payroll Manager role or similar position within the construction/contractor industry.

• Proficiency in handling Payroll Tax Returns, Payroll Taxes and Payroll Tax Reporting is essential.

• Familiarity with IRS Tax regulations and a demonstrated ability to reconcile payroll is required.

• The candidate should have experience with Federal Tax procedures and regulations.

• Proficiency in using Viewpoint Vista software is a key requirement for this role.

• The candidate should have experience with UKG Ready and UKG Pro payroll systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively manage team members and liaise with other departments.

• The candidate must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required to manage payroll processes efficiently and accurately.

• The candidate must have the ability to work independently and make decisions based on a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
