The IT Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will lead the technical architecture and development of the Public Cloud platform. They should be able work independently, as well as part of a larger global team, providing support for Valvoline’s server infrastructure, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code. Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure that supports Valvoline’s growing portfolio of products and services. Responsible for mentoring and developing junior level resources.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ability to independently install, configure, upgrade, and maintain various operating systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft Windows Server and Linux.

  • Architect and deploy various services (e.g. deploy a virtual machine, databases, infrastructure as code, etc.) into various Public Cloud environments.

  • Work directly with disaster recovery (DR) coordinator reviewing and enhancing existing DR procedures. Actively participate in DR operations / testing.

  • Demonstrate ability to discover, document, decompose, research, and solve for complex problems at scale.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-cultural team on high visibility projects.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual review of audit and compliance controls as it relates to area of responsibility. Remediate issues discovered during review process.

  • Mentor and train DevOps & Cloud teams to create / support IaC, leveraging CI/CD toolsets to improve and automate day-to-day processes.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

  • Internal contact – will have regular contact with various levels of Valvoline management.

  • External contact – individual have regular contact with various vendors regarding support issues and technology updates.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or relevant field

  • 7 - 10 years relevant work experience

  • 5+ years of work in the DevOps, CI/CD space (build/deploy pipelines, IaC automation)

  • Experience in a large global corporate preferred

What Will Set You Apart

  • Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or CGP.

  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and providing solutions to issues across various platforms.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Cod (IaC) tools and automation.

  • Knowledge and experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.

  • Experience with cloud provisioning and config management using CloudFormation / Terraform

  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-bases systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Experience leading infrastructure and/or system administration projects.

  • Ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical resources.
