Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1290000 and is part of the KY FMS 3, National Guard. Responsibilities As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR-TITLE 32, WS-5801-10, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Assign tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implement corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Ensure work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a Quality Control and Assurance program within the organization. Plan and establish overall leave schedules. Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Set performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: WOC/WOC Eligible - CW4 This will include service members with an approved pre-determination packet and proponent letter by advertisement close date (must submit a copy of approved packet and letter for verification). *NOTE: If selected, Warrant Officer Candidate (WOC) Eligible candidates must complete WO Course and be placed into a WO position within 24 months of selection, as a condition of employment, or be subject to removal from the position. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must attended Supervisor Training: failure to complete Supervisor Training within 12 months of appointment will result in reversion to previous position. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates and explain manuals and work procedures. Experience estimating material and manpower needed for specific jobs. Experience preparing production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying vehicles, equipment, and systems. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve maintenance and repair problems. Experience in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience reviewing work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise and communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
