Job Title : Associate Director, US 3PL Operations Management Lead (Operations & Analytics)

Location : Lexington, MA

About the role:

As an Associate Director of US 3PL Operations Management Lead (Operations and Analytics), you will provide oversight and leadership of US 3PL/LSP operations to support main GSC operational goals including Risk Management, Product Quality, Cost Management, Service Requirements, Compliance (including DSCSA), New Product Launch Support, and Inventory Management. You will also develop best practice procedures while maintaining an audit/inspection ready status. You will within the function create an atmosphere of continuous improvement. You will also achieve financial results by eliminating waste and controlling costs through ongoing operational improvements. You will report to the Head of Distribution.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead the operational relationship with non-warehouse Logistic Service Providers (parcel and truckload carriers, shipping solutions, etc.).

  • Deliver a Unique Customer Experience through a Self-driving, Agile, Compliant and Regional notable distribution network guided by our commitment to the Patients, People and Planet. Manage strategic distribution and warehousing network initiative implementation and support all Logistic Service Providers.

  • Lead the development of the team on execution of centralized tasks, finding opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes.

  • Participate in sourcing, partner selections, contract management together with Procurement, Quality and Legal.

  • Support regular QBRs (Performance Reviews) and lead continuous improvement programs of LSP's.

  • Implement processes to improve compliance with Quality systems and standards, with emphasis on centralization, simplification, and standardization.

  • Full compliance with regulatory agencies and governing bodies in association with rules, regulations, licensing, and reporting requirements (FDA, DEA, cGMP, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, EEOC, etc.). Alert management of any potential deviations or infractions promptly.

  • Lead compliance with DSCSA, coordinating with internal and external teams on issue escalation and resolution

  • Set and maintain all relevant SOPs with Operations, Tax, Regulatory Affairs and Quality

  • Sustain GDP compliance and support Internal/External Quality Audits

  • Manage daily supplier performance, deviation management, and CAPA issue escalation and resolution with quality.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor's degree; Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. Master degree would be ideal - MS / MBA.

  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience in Supply Chain Distribution and Logistics management including controlled temperature (cold-chain) logistics of cGMP regulated materials, Pharmaceuticals would be ideal.

  • APICS Certification would be ideal.

  • SAP ERP experience.

  • Understanding of implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (i.e., six sigma, Lean).

  • Understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain and Distribution processes.

  • Supply Chain systems knowledge (SAP, Microsoft office [Excel], BI).

  • Experience with relevant DEA, FDA, OSHA, and EEOC.

  • Experience with OpUs and commercial processes and understanding of GDP requirements.

  • Support process standardization and harmonization on a local level.

  • Work with commercial teams, Global Quality and business (procurement, finance, IT, and legal).

  • Must be effective at communicating at all levels of the organization and be able to coach/direct the activities of others.

  • Manage/Support a team of 0-2 focused on centralizing analytics and operations support.

  • Build patient-centric logistics and distribution services.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
