Description
Eliot is seeking, an energetic, dedicated individual for the position of Employment Specialist. The Division isis a CARF accredited, person-centered continuum of services that provides innovative and high quality programming to adults with developmental disabilities. The programs offer support and opportunities for individuals to enrich their lives, obtain housing and employment, develop personal skills and competencies, and enjoy a full range of community activities while developing a network of caring relationships.
Responsibilities:
Ensure and safeguard individuals’ human rights, dignity and respect in accordance with ECHS’ Human Rights policy.
Support individuals in exercising control over their lives, including daily routines at work and within the community. Includes informing individuals of choices in all areas of daily living to promote individual control to the greatest extent possible.
Assist individuals in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and by encouraging appropriate risk-taking.
In cooperation with Employment Supports Manager, participate in the development of Individual Support Plans for all individuals assigned on caseload.
Ensure individuals’ goals reflect things important to them and provide training in the areas identified to promote personal growth and accomplishment (may include assistance with personal care and hygiene, as required).
Ensure the individuals are free from neglect and abuse. Report all concerns/suspicions of abuse/ neglect to supervisor and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission.
Provide crisis intervention and management as necessary.
Adhere to all funding source regulations and ECHS policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in employee meetings, trainings, and development.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in related field or equivalent of one year related experience in the area of employment supports.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Sensitivity to the needs of the population.
Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
Must be proficient in English and possess and convey effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and service providers.
PAY RATE: $19.00p/hr
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
