Position Overview:

Join Siemens Rolling Stock in Lexington, NC as a Production Manager in Passenger Coach Assembly and become an integral part of our operations. This role focuses on executing production schedules, coordinating with the logistics team to ensure timely material delivery, and applying LEAN manufacturing principles to enhance product throughput. The Department Lead will prioritize safety, cost-efficiency, quality, and adherence to schedule. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure all Team Members are trained in, and observe, safe work practices.

  • Meet project targets for direct labor hours, schedule and quality.

  • Ensure development and documentation of best practice work standards and ensure all team members are properly trained for their assigned tasks.

  • Plan production operations, define workflow, and establish priorities and production sequences to meet project and interdepartmental requirements.

  • Develop, monitor and meet department budgets and business plans.

  • Establish, monitor, and adjust manpower and applicable equipment planning to meet production demands.

  • Drive lean manufacturing and 5S principles and initiatives to eliminate waste.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Managing complex assembly lines for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies for over 10 years

  • Experience in OEM capital equipment manufacturing operations, in a schedule driven, high mix/low volume, engineer-to-order, project environment for over 10 years

  • Proficient in the principles of Lean manufacturing

  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Lead and motivate a direct labor workforce while building strong relationships, coaching effectively, and resolving complex problems.

  • Utilize strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders.

This career is based in Lexington, NC. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The base salary range for this position in North Carolina is $128,700 to $174,200 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
