Prysmian Group Senior Process Engineer in Lexington, South Carolina

The Process Engineer will need to organize and provide daily direction for assigned project and process engineering elements within the Lexington facility and to support TPM/Facilities Engineering projects to ensure production of high-quality Division products to satisfy customer requirements and Division Standards with regard to quality, features, delivery dates, and product performance.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing Process Engineering projects/activities at Lexington to ensure that assigned production lines operate at optimum capacity and efficiency.

  • Assesses problems and initiates corrective actions within assigned production lines to resolve process-related failures, equipment malfunctions, and other situations resulting in equipment downtime.

  • Responsible for reviewing equipment/process performance and initiating projects to upgrade/streamline processes or procedures.

  • Responsible along with Documentation/Quality Assurance for ensuring that all required documents are completed, up to date and meet ISO 9000/ISO 14000 compliance requirements on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for participating with Engineering Design/Process Units/customers to assure that efficient production processes/ actions are taken to meet customer demands/requirements and Division quality standards.

  • Responsible for assisting departmental resources to assist Finance in the development and maintenance of the Standard Cost system to ensure that accurate and proper cost controls are in place in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for identifying technical training needs as required to ensure the effectiveness of the organization to achieve Pirelli-CD plans and objectives.

  • Responsible for providing and directing timely transfers of new processes, methods, and techniques to assigned production lines to ensure timely and effective startup of new/revised products and/or processes.

  • Provides support and expertise to TPM as assigned to improve the efficiency and capabilities of the Lexington Process Units.

  • Prepares monthly reports detailing status of projects for management used and review.

  • Achieving cost reduction objectives through improvements in technology, methods, and techniques - requires creativity and close cooperation and coordination among the Division management team to assure success.

  • Implementing new capital projects without disruption of delivery commitments to customers - requires attention to details, effective management of outside contractors, and close cooperation and coordination among the Division management team to assure success.

  • Achieving increased capacity and efficiency from existing manufacturing processes/equipment- requires creativity, attention to detail and close cooperation and coordination among the Division management team.

  • Achieving quality standards while enhancing/revising processes, methods, and techniques - requires constant scrutiny of daily activities, intensive employee training

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical or mechanical.

  • Four to six years practical experience in a high-volume process manufacturing environment encompassing manufacturing engineering, statistical planning techniques, business systems, project management, and quality control.

  • Fiber optics experience a plus.

  • Must have strong communication skills (written and oral).and demonstrated people management skills

  • Must be knowledgeable with regard to all equipment, processes, methods, and capabilities for assigned production lines.

  • Must be knowledgeable with regard to business systems, manufacturing process equipment, test and inspection procedures and Standard cost systems/monitoring.
