Inventory Analyst

The inventory analyst implements and maintains all the procedures and protocols regarding proper inventory control for the purpose of maintaining accurate system information.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain cycle count procedures.

• Perform inventory counts.

• Drive initiatives to reduce slow moving inventories and to reduce days on hand.

• Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide resolutions

• Review end of life inventory and coordinate with parties for reduced sales price or scrap.

• Coordinate inventory adjustments with material control personnel.

• Develop and maintain inventory accuracy program.

• Identify and coordinate with materials on stocking level issues.

• Notify management of problems encountered and suggest methods for improvement.

• Recommend methods and procedures to control inventory.

• Identify and maintain accurate system data, identifying and correcting errors.

• Perform ad-hoc analysis of system transactional data when necessary.

• Punctuality and daily attendance.

• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to transport materials.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintain accurate records.

• Housekeeping of areas other than immediate workstation.

• Performs other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by management to support Volvo Penta goals and objectives.

Core Competencies:

• Ability to read and write and perform basic math.

• Must possess working knowledge of JDE.

• Must have analytical problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills are a must.

• Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

• People skills to perform in a team-oriented environment.

• A thorough understanding of the manufacturing process flow in all departments.

• Knowledge of common parts with multiple applications across different departments.

• A thorough understanding of the procedures for receiving, consuming, scrapping and/or removing raw material from on hand quantities including service parts.

• Ability to order and use SBT History reports.

• Ability to cross reference supplier vs. VPA-Lex. Ops. Part numbers.

• Ability to distinguish between parts with more than one suffix level.

• Ability to calculate the quantity of parts to count per day based on the cycle count work instructions.

• Ability to verify Bill of Material usages.

• Must be able to understand Inventory flow throughout entire supply chain and be able to coordinate and fix Inventory transactions with the affected systems and people.

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.

• Requires 2 to 5 years relevant experience

Equipment Used and Working Environment:

• Ability to pass forklift test and operate lift and other material handling equipment.

• Requires the physical capabilities for repetitive bending and lifting.
