job summary:

An Electrical Systems Engineer OR Master Electrician is needed for a leading construction project in the Greensboro, NC area. The Electrical Engineer / Master Electrician will to oversee the specification, design, and implementation of electrical systems and components. This role involves ensuring compliance with electrical codes, managing equipment procurement, and coordinating with teams to optimize system layouts and fault current mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and a proven track record in system design and project management.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Master Electrician License and has a minimum of 5+ years' experience with NFPA70E, NEC, and NFPA79 codes. They possess expertise in specifying and procuring electrical equipment up to 1000V. Proficiency with EasyPower software for electrical design and fault analysis, and extensive experience in planning electrical systems, mitigating arc flash issues, and designing cable tray routing is desired.

responsibilities:

  • Specify and procure electrical devices such as circuit breakers, bus plugs, and transformers.

  • Confirm physical layouts for bus plugs, cable trays, and data cable systems.

  • Collaborate with contractors to develop EasyPower models and ensure compliance with SCCR standards.

  • Oversee trip unit settings for substation breakers and coordinate implementation with facility teams.

  • Utilize electrical codes to ensure compliance and develop mitigation measures for non-conformance.

  • Design and review cable tray routing, panel layouts, and associated network hardware.
