Job Description

The Executive Director, Event Marketing, will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of our travel events. You will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated professionals to deliver exceptional experiences. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and customer focus.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the travel events division, aligning with company goals and objectives.

  • Work with the marketing and sales teams to identify new market opportunities and innovative event concepts to drive growth and expansion.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of all travel events, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and partners to coordinate logistics, accommodations, transportation, and activities.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the travel events team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members, and provide regular feedback and coaching to support their professional development.

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, creativity, and teamwork.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences to deliver personalized and tailored travel experiences.

  • Develop Relationships with Travel + Leisure's Travel Advisory Board and Strategic Vision to plan and execute industry events

Budget Management:

  • Manage the travel events budget, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining profitability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • Proven experience in executive leadership roles within the travel, hospitality, or events industry, with a track record of success in driving business growth and profitability.

  • Strong strategic planning and business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to developing and empowering employees to achieve their full potential.

  • Passion for travel and a deep understanding of the luxury travel market.

Pay Range

Salary: $105,000 - $150,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
