Inventory Specialist / Accounting Assistant

Wheeland Lumber Co., Inc a 4th generation sawmill manufacturer is seeking highly skilled, dependable, and motivated individual to join our growing team. 

We are seeking an Inventory Specialist/ Accounting Assistant who will be detail oriented and conscientious in maintaining our inventory, handling shipping, receiving, research and order parts for projects, and processing the necessary paperwork for inventory. The ideal candidate will be comfortable learning new systems and working to find more efficient and effective ways of accomplishing tasks.

The Inventory Specialist / Accounting Assistant position will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Manage Dimension Sales Orders
• Arranging and Processing outgoing shipments
• Creating and maintaining work orders
• Assist with export orders
• Create customer invoices
• Creating and processing purchase orders
• Entering and processing Accounts payable
• Ordering / Controlling parts and supplies
• Develop and implement health and safety plans
• Conducting safety meetings, audits, and inspections
• Investigate and document accidents in the workplace
• Employee orientation
• Maintain employee handbook, forms and other new hire paperwork
• Cross train to support other office staff
• Additional Duties as assigned

Experience and Education:

• 2 year degree in Business or, Accounting related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and in an efficient and timely manner
