Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Supervisor to join our Ashland LLC business at our Lima, OH plant. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Intermediates business unit. This position will report to Charles Gasperetti.

 

Lab supervisor is responsible for all facets of lab operation including safety, product certification, in process testing, environmental testing, instrument calibration and maintenance, and supplies purchase. The supervisor may design and conduct experiments to assist with process troubleshooting and will manage all outside analyses associated with troubleshooting, and process and catalyst development. The lab supervisor will have primary responsibility for the Site ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including maintenance of procedures, compliance with procedures, and management of internal and external audit activities. The supervisor will lead implementation of the site Strategic Quality Plan. The supervisor may interact with customers in the event of product questions or customer complaints regarding product quality. The supervisor will assist with data entry into SAP and troubleshooting of system issues. Two laboratory technicians will report to the lab supervisor.

 

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • BS Degree in Chemistry or a Science related field
  • 1-10 years experience in an industrial laboratory setting
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to intertact or learn to interact with an SAP data system.
  • Exposure to and ability to lead a plant Quality Management System.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

     

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Leadership and training experience
  • Equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Sufficient interpersonal skills to interact with operations, customer service, and quality management personnel
