Lima Refining Company Senior Business Development Specialist in Lima, Ohio

Worker Type: Employee Group: Optimization Department Job Post End Date: 07/08/2024 About this opportunity: R eporting to the Coordination and Economics Manager, this senior incumbent works creatively and collaborates with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to improve the refinery's overall bu siness per formance and compliance. The Senior Business Development Specialist will significantly influence the profitability of the business and is instrumental in maintaining compliance with current and future regulations. What you'll do : * Negotiate contracts up to $100 million and 15 years in length covering shared services with neighboring petrochemical facilities and utility suppliers covering a variety of utilities and services ( e.g. steam, boiler feedwater, electricity, natural gas, fuel gas, process wastewater , rail switching, etc.) * Prepare contract approval documents for Cenovus Senior Leadership approval, up to and including the Chief Executive officer and Board of Directors. * Lead the Cenovus marketing team to negotiate and manage feedstock/co-product agreements between the refinery and neighboring petrochemical facilities. * Collaborate with Government Affairs and Community Relations groups to advocate for Cenovus's interests with legislative and regulatory bodies * Serve as the principal commercial interface with suppliers of electricity, hydrogen, nitrogen, raw water, city water, and other key refinery inputs . * Determine and manage the refinery's buying strategy for the commodities listed above. * Implement key infrastructure projects which support the business' objectives of accessing economic crudes and profitable refined product markets -in partnership with the Cenovus Marketing and Supply teams. * Implement a portfolio of site projects and commercial opportunities which increase refinery profitability that meet site and senior manager's expectations . * Lead special projects that advocate key growth and cost reduction projects covering a diverse range of topics. * Lead/Coordinate Refinery Fuels Compliance Efforts and coordinate compliance activities with Refinery, Government Affairs, Corporate and Legal teams . * Develop and track progress against annual site strategic objectives . Close collaboration is required with all stakeholders, both within and outside of the refinery. * Communicate with other Cenovus facilities to share best practices and jointly develop solutions to common technical and business problems.
