LINCOLN ELECTRIC SYS Distribution Engineer in Lincoln, Nebraska

JOB SUMMARY

Supports engineering and technical activities concerning existing and proposed electrical services, rebuilds,relocations, and new installations of distribution, streetlight, and fiber communication systems. Specificresponsibilities include design and work order preparation, material selection, writing specifications, bidevaluations, coordination with and some supervision of consulting services, budget projections, andpreparation of feasibility studies. Leads small to medium projects with minimal guidance. Consistent andreliable attendance is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESANDCORE COMPETENCIES

  • Obtains information from field observations, GIS record maps, construction drawings and other related sources to properly plan new developments to ensure future growth can properly be served.
  • Writes work orders and prepares drawings for the construction of capital improvement projects.
  • Performs a variety of engineering related calculations.
  • Prepares written communications, estimates, and other technical documentation for customers, contractors, developers, and other interested parties.
  • Investigates, communicates, and coordinates problems or issues related to outages, power quality, special projects, billing issues, metering concerns, and other related issues with internal staff and customers.
  • Prepares technical studies, background information, and documentation for management consideration on various projects and technical matters.
  • Collaborates with consultants, developers, architects, customers, other utilities, attorneys, and other groups to review system requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Engineer($81,166 - $101,458) -Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Engineer III($93,342 - $ 116,678) -Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, and at least three years of progressive experience preferred in related fieldor an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Senior Engineer($107,342 - $134,178) -Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, and at least six to ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience in area of assignment and a Professional Engineer License (PE), or at least ten to fourteen years of progressively responsible engineering experience in area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
