Job Description

Olsson offers its clients a full spectrum of water services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services.

As a Senior Engineer on our Water Resources team, you will provide high-level technical support and lead QA/QC activities within a team. In this role, you will advise on complex projects and apply advanced experiences to independently make recommendations and decisions regarding project design work.

Key responsibilities a Senior Engineer can expect in this role include:

Project Design and Review : Provide high-level project design and review project documents to ensure design quality for complex projects

Research : Conduct research on topics of considerable scope and complexity

Advising and Directing : Advise and direct staff on design approaches to meet project requirements

Standards Development : Contribute to the development of standards and guidelines for engineering activities within the team

Supervision : Supervise and review the technical assignments of less experienced staff

Our Water Resources team is looking for a candidate with outstanding interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving experience, and decision-making capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess project management experience and exceptional technical writing skills.

A Senior Engineer on the Water Resources team can expect occasional travel to job sites for observation and to attend client meetings.

We will consider candidates interested in being located in Lincoln or Omaha, NE.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to contribute and work well with a team

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Professional engineering license (PE)

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering

  • Professional Engineering License

  • 8 or more years of engineering experience

  • 4 years of experience leading or mentoring

  • Experience in stormwater and water resources; hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, master planning, stream restoration or stormwater design a plus
