Job Description
To be considered for this role you must have Anerobic Digestion experience, and be willing to commute to our facility in Linden, NJ.
Veolia is looking for a Plant Manager who demonstrates accountability for business and client objectives for a new Anaerobic Digestion facility operated by Veolia and owned by our client. In this role, you will integrate and develop a team and processes that meet the business needs of both Veolia and the client. You will be involved in full-range planning, and contribute to the overall site strategy and success. The Plant Manager is the visible and active leader of the facility, promoting a favorable and productive environment for all employees. The facility will digest source-separated organics (SSO) and fats, oils and grease (FOG) to produce pipeline-quality renewable natural gas (RNG).

Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations at this site including all aspects from the
reception of raw materials/feedstock through the delivery of finished product.
• Ensures the facility maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements
and in accordance with design criteria.
• Leading a staff of 20+ individuals including administrative oversight for employee hiring
and selection, timekeeping, performance reviews, and personnel development.
• Implements, directs and enforces plant safety and risk management programs
• Ensure appropriate staff levels at all times and all personnel are well-trained to perform
their duties effectively
• Lead the effort to develop and implement plans to meet customers' requirements for
product quality, cost, and delivery in a safe manner
• Maintains and develops procedures, and documents necessary to maintain the ISO
Quality system and certifications
• Promote a working environment to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service,
quality (inc. ISO), and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
• Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all Operations and Services
functions at the facility
• Drive initiatives to maximize employee contribution and drive improvements in product
quality, efficiency and services
• Responsible for annual budget setting for the facility and accountable for reporting
financial details.
• Ensures team is properly executing preventative maintenance program set forward by
Veolia in collaboration with the customer.
• Works across all business functions (outside of direct team) to enhance Customer
Services
• Works with client around changes in feedstock, and coordinates with internal process
experts where necessary
Qualifications
Preferred:
• Experience with a plant that utilizes an Anaerobic Digestion Process (A relatable process
industry can suffice)
• 7+ years of experience in operations management and leadership
• Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and
inventory control, variable cost productivity, and fulfillment metrics, quality systems, cost
systems, and fulfillment metrics, and procedures
• Scada Experience
• Lean Six Sigma training
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite of applications
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
Education & Experience
Required
• HS Diploma required
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing/operations, and/or leadership
Additional Information
Working Conditions
• Facility maintains stock of various chemicals including acids and caustics for operations
use
• Large quantities of biogas will be present on the site
• Team may be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, or perform activities
requiring permit to complete
• High traffic movement, digested solids management
• Minimal travel travel expected
