We are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Accountant - Corporate based in Linthicum Heights, MD. This role entails ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while also managing regulatory reporting requirements. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, preparing various state and local tax returns for multiple locations, liaising directly with tax advisors, and advising on tax planning strategies to optimize the organization's financial position. Someone with a background in small business tax, multi-location and multi-state work may be a great fit.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns - state and local.

• Work with external tax advisors on federal tax returns.

• Track state & local taxes and business licenses across multiple locations to ensure compliance and accurate reporting on the general ledger.

• Communicate across departments to gather financial data for tax reporting purposes.

• Strategize on tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.

• Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.

• Assist in preparing financial statements and disclosures related to taxes.

Requirements

• CPA is strongly preferred

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Excellent communication skills needed to work across teams and with various stakeholders

• Experience in Auditing

• Ability to prepare Corporate Tax Returns

• Experience in preparing Federal Tax Returns

• Experience with Multi-state Tax Returns

• Ability to devise Tax Planning Strategies and assist with Tax Audits

• Strong Excel skills needed, experience using NetSuite is a plus
