Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking to hire a Principal or Sr. Principal Project Management role to support the fast-growing Payload & Ground Systems (PGS) Division . The selected individual will be a valued member of the Business Unit Operations team, focused organizational efficiency and business operations. In this role, the candidate understands the goals and priorities of the RSP organization, ensuring all activities are aligned with these objectives, interpreting and developing organizational strategies, policies and practices to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Coordinate reporting to Division, Sector, and other internal partners

  • Plan Leadership events, including customer and executive visits, offsite strategy events, and more

  • Collaborate with (BU) leaders to develop and maintain effective business rhythm

  • Collaborate with IT and other business partners to leverage / implement tools for improved organizational efficiency

  • Identify and execute process improvements

  • Ensure accountability among leadership teams for BU initiative, such as workforce demand planning, status reporting, action item closure, etc.

This position can be staffed at a Principal or Sr. Principal level, based on the basic qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Level : 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree. 3 years with a Master’s degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Sr. Principal Level: 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree. 6 years with a Master’s degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

  • Able to excel at operating in a fast paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to change.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to function independently, meet deadlines, and drive tasks to completion.

  • To be successful in this role, the candidate must be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly collaborative, team oriented, have strong people leadership skills, and be able to effectively multi-task competing priorities and schedules across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Space industry.

  • Active TS/SCI

Salary Range: $84,300 - $127,000

Salary Range 2: $104,900 - $157,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
