Northrop Grumman Sr Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist in Linthicum, Maryland

The Supply Chain Planning Specialist (SCPS) will provide support from a Global Supply Chain (GSC) perspective for the Networked Information Solutions Division (NIS) directly supporting the Secure Processing (SP) Operating Unit within the Secure Processing and Networks (SPAN) Business Unit. Specific duties would include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all Supply Chain Management activities needed to meet program requirements and maintain link between various Supply Chain functions, including Purchasing/Sub-Contracts, Logistics, and Production Control

  • Develop/understand the proposal/execution strategy and structures

  • Review and understand supplier proposals

  • Review and work Costed Bill of Materials and BOEs

  • Review Shop Orders and support execution through material receipt

  • Define and develop material strategy for various development programs

  • Manage/report and forecast material cost/performance of assigned program(s) (Material Receipt Tool, CMEs, IPRS, Cognos)

  • Provide reporting and analysis of Supplier performance to PMO & CAMs in support of Program EVMS metrics

  • Understand/ensure the overarching goals of the division as well as the GSC organization are being supported

  • Maintain strong business acumen and ability to operate in a fast-paced development environment that consists of leading-edge technology suppliers and non-traditional supply base.

  • Maintain material visibility and oversight while managing supplier delivery against Program schedule

  • Support Statement of Work (SOW) creation for subcontract activities

  • Track and manage Supplier subcontract performance and milestone achievement

  • Understand, track, and communicate Supplier performance versus their scope of work with emphasis on identifying areas of risk, opportunity, or critical importance

  • Communicate material status and critical supplier information to PMO and Customer through weekly/monthly Program reviews

  • Identify and mitigate program risks as they pertain to material requirements

  • Identify areas of opportunity for process improvement and support implementation

This is an onsite/Hybrid position located in Linthicum Maryland.

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist 4 :

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in supply chain management, or related fields, to include logistics, manufacturing/ project management, business management, or information systems OR Master's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in supply chain management, or related fields, to include logistics, manufacturing/ project management, business management, or information systems.

  • Ability to be agile and work in a fast passed engineering environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

  • US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Supply Chain, Business or Operations, or financial planning

  • Experience in Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR, DOS licenses, FAR and DFARS.

  • Ability to be agile and work in a fast-paced engineering environment

  • Ability to work in a team environment while also being able to work independently with limited oversight

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and communicate priorities effectively

  • Active Secret clearance

Salary Range: $104,900 - $157,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
