Navistar, Inc. Technical Support Consultant in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Support Consultant who is fully proficient in applying established standards and resolving a wide range of complex problems innovatively. The ideal candidate can address diverse issues, including those without precedent, and demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solutions. They will use best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve products, services, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature by responding to customer product inquiries via telephone or in written internet-based email or chat sessions

  • Resolves customer concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance or product application or compatibility matters

  • Interpersonal skills and technical product knowledge and expertise are critical to responding to daily customer-centric activities

  • Troubleshoots problems with malfunctioning electrical, mechanical, software and wireless vehicle systems and recommends corrective action

  • Documents customer information and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 5 years of field service engineering, automotive service or truck service experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 3 years of field service engineering, automotive service or truck service experience

OR

  • At least 7 years of field service engineering, automotive service or truck service experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
