Summary:

Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center - Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm - Registered Dietician Nutritionist (CDR) cert & Arkansas Licensed Dietitian (LD) required - 4yrs exp required

Coordinates research projects and clinical research programs while using the dietetic process to provide sage, effective care to research participants. Serves as a resource for research study participants, families, other healthcare providers, and members of clinical research teams regarding aspects of clinical research. The Research Project Manager maintains oversight for selected research studies and coordinates the clinical research process and in the hospital setting. Provides therapeutic nutrition care to infants and children in research studies and assigned outpatient clinics.

Coordinates research projects/programs and the Experimental Research Kitchen while using the dietetic process to provide safe, effective care to research participants. Designs and implements dietary interventions to provide nutrition care to infants, children, and pregnant women in research studies. Administers multi-component interventions with varying behavior change techniques including lactation counseling and motivational interviewing. Manages the Experimental Research Kitchen including budgeting, inventory, purchasing, training, quality control, and safety). Collects and enters dietary data into nutrition analysis software. Serves as a resource for research study participants, families, other healthcare providers, and members of clinical research teams regarding aspects of clinical research and food service management in accordance with regulations.

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent or Nursing Diploma

Description

  1. Assesses, develops and revises research protocols as appropriate.

  2. Ensures the completion of enrollment screening, consent, and subject recruitment for research participation according to applicable regulatory and institutional standards.

  3. Ensures the collection of subject data and recording of data into databases and ensures all files and study documentation is maintained. Remains informed of protocol requirements and research standards and keeps others informed.

  4. Recognizes, responds to, reports, and re-evaluates changes in subject information or condition in a timely manner.

  5. Collaborates and serves as a resource to subjects, families and team members regarding the study and research activities.

  6. Ensures clinical interventions are administered per protocol.

  7. Performs nutritional assessments and works with medical team to provide optimal nutrition care for outpatient clinic patients. Monitors the progress of assigned patients.

  8. Makes referrals to and communicates with local health care team, home care companies, WIC, Medicaid, etc.

  9. Educates and provides guidance to patient, family care-givers, and staff on diet, feeding regimen or other nutritional information.

  10. Documents all pertinent nutritional information and notes in patient's medical records following Joint Commission standards, PES format, and departmental policies. Documents patients seen, procedures and activities performed and time spent on each.

  11. Provides education and training for co-workers, medical faculty, medical students and residents, dietetic interns, other health care personnel and the community.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
