Pulaski County Special School District Kindergarten Para Educator (temp for the 2024-2025 school year) in Little Rock, Arkansas

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED AND

  • Completed 60 credit hours at an institution of higher education or obtained an associate’s degree (or higher) or passed a paraprofessional academic assessment test

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To aid and support the teacher in the kindergarten program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Reinforce instructional activities with students as prescribed by the teacher.

  2. Help set up centers at the beginning of the day.

  3. Help check in children - (Lunch money, check back packs, toileting, etc.)

  4. Do lunch count and attendance daily.

  5. Perform recess duties.

  6. Prepare and clean up snacks daily. Inform teacher when supplies are low.

  7. Prepare art projects and clean up afterwards. This includes mixing paint for easel and cleaning up brushes and containers.

  8. Prepare instructional lessons as directed by the teacher.

  9. Supervise children in lunch room.

  10. Properly supervise the behavior of children while in your care.

  11. Clean sink and straighten and dust shelves as needed.

  12. Help children change clothes when accidents occur.

  13. Participate in in-services, professional, and/or faculty meetings as directed by the building principal.

  14. Report to and is responsible to the classroom teacher and building principal.

  15. Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Salary Range: Range 3 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($12.04/hr. – $21.32/hr. depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract: 178 contract days, 7 hours/day

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Personnel Status: Classified
