Job Duties and Responsibilities

Boost Mobile is seeking a Manager of E911 Engineering & Operations with a strong background in wireless telecommunications, mobile emergency services, and regulatory compliance. This key role will oversee the full lifecycle of emergency services and location technologies, including engineering, operations, and compliance within Boost’s mobile network.

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and operating essential emergency solutions such as Enhanced 911 (E-911), Location-Based Services (LBS), and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA). Experience in commercial location services, location accuracy certification, and performance monitoring is highly desired.

This strategic position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with various business units and reports directly to the Head of Regulated Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to define and execute strategic plans for regulatory compliance.

  • Manage relationships with vendors and government agencies.

  • Oversee the creation of testing standards, MOPs, and operational guidelines.

  • Ensure FCC mandates are communicated and operationalized to maintain compliance and protect Boost Mobile’s network.

  • Foster team development through coaching and mentoring.

  • Define KPIs and implement data visualization to monitor performance and compliance.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline with 6+ years of experience or 10+ years of relevant regulatory experience in lieu of a degree

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven regulatory experience in a telecommunications setting

  • Experience in implementing and operating E-911 and LBS solutions

  • Strong understanding of 4G and 5G Core and RAN technologies, RF propagation theory, and emergency call and location traffic flows

  • Familiarity with 5G strategies, including Non Stand Alone (NSA), Stand Alone (SA), and Voice over New Radio (VoNR) network implementations

  • Strong knowledge of wireless emergency services regulations

  • Experience working with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and government agencies is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to implement policy requirements and establish technology roadmaps

  • Experience with incident management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • Proven experience in coaching and mentoring employees is highly desirable

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
