The Opportunity

This position works out of Livermore, CA in the Abbott Heart Failure, Medical Devices division. 

As a Business Excellence Specialist, you are responsible for execution and ongoing management of business excellence initiatives. The role supports strategic, process improvement projects in conjunction with the goals and imperatives. The role is accountable for delivering tactical results from the application of effective change management.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Extensive Experience conducting Kaizen events, Practice Vs Procedure Gap Analysis.

  • Creating capacitymodels supporting labor efficiency standards for the Operational Organization.

  • Conducting training on Lean principles and Problem solving

  • Ensuring KPIs to measure various operational functions and performance levels are tracked and associated problem solving implemented for low trending KPIs

  • Supports and co-develops new initiatives for the organization that are value added to the business excellence program.

  • Experience using Lean Six sigma principles and implemented projects effectively for margin improvements.

  • Supports project execution by completing tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing strategies to ensure project implementation buy-in

  • Develops change and communication strategies to ensure successful projects and site initiatives.

  • Resolves project issues by working with team members, project customers, cross site counterparts and others as appropriate.

  • Supports roll out of projects until fully integrated and handed over o the appropriate group (s)

  • Creates, edits, designs, and produces a wide range of training and deployment materials or oversees external agencies in the development of materials.

  • Liaises with the different department functions to seek communication effectiveness and helps enhance the excellence culture.

  • Assists with the organization of the exempt and direct staff employee monthly, quarterly meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Black belt certification.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, science or related field

  • 2-5 years' experience in engineering, operations or managing project related with business improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with wide range of audiences.

  •  Strong Project management, multi-tasking and organizational skills and ability to respond efficiently in a continuously changing environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

The base pay for this position is $73,600.00 – $147,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
