HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Leads technical support to clients and potential clients on a global basis. Travels to clients’ sites to install equipment, diagnose equipment problems and repair equipment. Involves travel up to 50% of the time. Reports to the Field Service Manager.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Field: Install new sputter deposition or evaporation systems. Takes the lead on ensuring customer facilities and deliverables are in place. Includes training and on-site acceptance testing. • Field: Install new component packages. Works with engineering to ensure component compatibility. • Factory & field: Leads technical phone & e-mail support. • Performs field warranty repair work, both systems and components. • Factory & field: Sells and performs billable (non-warranty) field service work. Includes equipment audits, upgrades, training, and repair. • Troubleshoots and assists factory repair services. • Supports acquisition and analysis of customer needs and problems, making recommendations to the sales & engineering team to satisfy customer needs and develop and implement solutions. • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary to meet the needs of internal and external customers. • Contributes toward maintaining a healthy and safe work environment. • Aids in final test of systems as required. • Aids in process lab as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• AA degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in electronics diagnostics & repair with the ability to troubleshoot problems. • Desired: Experience and/or education in vacuum technology (including leak checking), thin film, or any semiconductor process manufacturing equipment. • Knowledge and experience with RF generators and auto-matching networks. • Familiarity with tool control software and the ability to load software onto the system. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with customers. • This position requires up to 25% of international travel.
