Bryant & Stratton College is currently recruiting a full-time nursing faculty member to teach in the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing program at the Liverpool, New York campus. Faculty workload includes teaching in the acute care clinical setting, laboratory setting, as well as providing classroom instruction.

Nursing theory classes typically meet once per week and include two - three hours of face-to-face classroom instruction at the Liverpool campus. Clinical instruction requires direct student supervision and reinforcement of classroom instruction with patient care in the acute care clinical setting. Clinical site placement may vary during day or evening hours and is subject to agency affiliation agreements and student course objectives.

Primary nursing faculty responsibilities include:

  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction to nursing students in the nursing program at the Liverpool campus and local health care agency sites.

  • Participate in advising of students.

  • Be committed to professional development.

  • Coordinate with the clinical sites for student clinical placement.

  • Orient students to clinical agencies.

  • Orient agency clinical preceptors to the course requirements and clinical objectives.

  • Perform midterm and final student clinical evaluation

  • Participate in campus-wide initiatives in support of recruitment, retention, and graduation goals.

  • Maintain a current knowledge of teaching discipline/field of study.

  • Participate in curriculum monitoring and the ongoing development process.

  • Attend required college functions including staff meetings, in-service training, faculty development activities, pinning, graduation, and open house activities.

  • Utilize active learning (facilitation), authentic assessment, and eportfolio assignments to support the teaching and learning outcomes of the college.

  • Adhere to all duties as assigned by the Nursing Program Director and uphold all established operational policies and procedures.

  • Attend monthly faculty, program, and college meetings.

All candidates must demonstrate:

  • Active unencumbered Registered Nursing license in New York State.

  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing.

  • Requirements and credentials of the Board of Nursing in New York State.

  • Strong time management, problem solving, conflict management, cultural diversity, analytic, adaptability, and creativity skills.

  • Team-orientation.

  • Working knowledge of computer software (e-mail, Microsoft Word, etc.).

  • Commitment to continuous curriculum enhancement and application of best practices in nursing education and clinical practice.

  • Ability to make meaningful and positive connections with a diverse student body in a career college environment.

Preferred candidates will be highly skilled with recent clinical experience. Two years evidence of current interdisciplinary collaboration required. Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level including curriculum development, assessment, course preparation and instruction in didactic, lab and/or clinical setting desired.

Salary: $85,000

The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
