In this entry level position, you will work alongside other Electronics and Controls Engineers to develop control systems for internal Roush projects and external customers. As Electronics and Controls Engineer I, you will develop control system software, write software documentation, and assist with electronics hardware design and selection. This position is located at our facility in Livonia, MI.As Electronics & Controls Engineer I, you will:Develop control system software, including software architecture and control algorithmsWrite software documentation such as flowcharts, state diagrams, timing diagrams, pseudocode, theory of operations, and Unified Modeling Language (UML)Assist with electronics hardware design and selection, including processing, signal conditioning, sensors, and actuatorsCapture and document customer, system, hardware, and software requirementsInteract with customers and the Roush engineering team in meetings and presentationsTest and tune control systems to optimize performance and validate functionalityPerform wire harness design, including circuit analysis, creating schematics, and wire harness printsWrite progress reports and final program reportsDevelop system plant models to aid in control system developmentCreate and execute software and system test plansTo be considered as Electronics and Controls Engineer I, you will need:Must be a US citizen or US lawful permanent residentBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering or mechanical engineeringExperience with MATLAB and Simulink, LabVIEW, C, C++, or Python software languages gained through coursework or other projectsAbility to read, understand and create electrical schematics, and a good understanding of electrical and electronics basicsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write concise technical reportsInitiative to work independently and handle several assignments simultaneouslyGood time management skills to ensure projects are completed by deadlineAbility to absorb new technical assignments independentlyMust have a valid driver's licenseA successful candidate may also have:Experience in a controls related co-op or internshipExperience with electronics and software-based projectsAutomotive knowledgeExperience with Controller Area Network (CANbus), Serial, and Ethernet communicationsAbility to operate an oscilloscope and other electronics test equipmentCheck out this short video to learn more --> Join Our Advanced Engineering Team!Our full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more.If you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.Please visit our careers page and
