Job Summary VanDeMark Chemical Inc. is a Lockport, NY based global chemical company seeking to add a professional member to our team. The main organizational function of this position will be to develop, maintain and continuously improve programs within our Responsible Care Management System (Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security). Successful candidates will have expertise in at least two of these functional areas. Responsibilities will include executing systems to maintain compliance, training, and staying abreast of evolving regulatory requirements. The individual will be responsible for monitoring and improving the efficiency, safety, environmental and process safety compliance of our manufacturing processes through observation and collection/management of data. The position requires a motivated and hands on individual who has excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with all company departments, as well as external organizations/agencies.

Qualifications and Skills An Ideal candidate will possess: * Science or related degree and 5+ years experience , preferably in the chemical industry. * Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing preferred. * Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. * Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local environmental and workplace standards as they apply to operating areas, including OSHA, NYSDEC, USEPA, USCG, DOT and DHS. * Cross functional capacity to aid in operations support. * Ability to stand for extended periods of time. * Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 40 pounds. * Ability to perform activities associated with responding to material release scenarios. * Ability and desire to perform face-to-face communications and classroom training to all levels of employees.
