Aerotek Machine Operator in Lockport, New York

Job Description

As an entry level machine operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all lamination jobs are completed in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing scrap and downtime. You will focus on eliminating defects and addressing substandard quality issues. This role involves handling hazardous waste with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and you will receive thorough training upon onboarding, with annual refreshers thereafter. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Food Safety standards, and actively participating in maintaining FDA requirements. You will be expected to report any conditions that may present a food safety risk.

Hard Skills

  • Operating laminator machines

  • Coating weight samples

  • Taking bond strengths on each roll prior to lamination

  • Saving roll tags from printed rolls in job jacket

  • Ensuring proper tensions to minimize curl and create well-formed rolls

  • Recording information accurately

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lockport, New York.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a flexible packaging facility that serves food manufacturers nationwide. While the environment does not involve direct food handling, it adheres to all FDA requirements. Annual training on GMP principles is mandatory, ensuring compliance with all food safety standards.
